The Chairman of the BiH Presidency Nebojša Radmanović received the newly appointed Apostolic Nuncio to BiH, Monsignor Luigi Pezzuto.

Radmanović extended a warm welcome to the Apostolic Nuncio Monsignor Pezzuto for the support the Holy See provides to BiH on its way to EU integration.

Pezzuto thanked President Chairman Radmanović for the warm welcome, and said that he is glad to have arrived to Sarajevo and BiH.

“It will be my honor and joy to work for the benefit of BiH citizens and for the benefit of peace in your country’’, said Monsignor Pezzuto. He also said that he would like to establish a positive dialogue between the Church and the civil authorities.

Chairman Radmanović reminded Monsignor Pezzuto of the good cooperation of the BiH Presidency with the former Nuncio Archbishop Allessandro D’Errico, who ended his term in office after six successful years of the diplomatic mission to BiH.

On this occasion, President Radmanović expressed confidence that the good cooperation of the Apostolic Nunciature and the BiH Presidency would continue. He particularly stressed the importance of involvement of the Holy See regarding the establishment of trust and reconciliation between people in the wider region.

Chairman Radmanović and Monsignor Pezzuto spoke about the signing and implementation of the Basic Agreement Between BiH and the Holy See from April 2006. This Agreement confirmed the good current relations between BiH and the Holy See.

‘’Now is the imminent implementation of this agreement and you will have full support from me and my colleagues in the Presidency’’, said Chairman Radmanović.
