The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, will travel to New York at the beginning of next week to continue intensive activities with the aim of adopting a resolution on the International Day of Remembrance and commemoration of the genocide in Srebrenica, announced the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bećirović’s new visit to the UN headquarters comes just a few days after he addressed a session of the UN Security Council on the occasion of the High Representative’s Report on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the previous days, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency held a series of meetings with the ambassadors of numerous countries in New York, and next week he will have a new series of meetings with the ambassadors.

This is the third visit of Chairman Bećirović to the headquarters of the United Nations within a month, as part of advocating the adoption of the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica. Also, in the previous weeks, he talked with the leaders of numerous influential countries both in the West and in the East.

Bećirović held a meeting with the President of the UN General Assembly Dennis Francis, which is the second joint meeting in less than a month. Before that, in the middle of last month in New York, he also spoke with the Secretary General of the UN, António Gutteres.

The Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, will attend the session of the United Nations General Assembly where a vote will be taken on the resolution on July 11 as the International Day of Remembrance and Commemoration of the Genocide in Srebrenica committed in 1995.
