Chairman of BiH Presidency to meet Pope Francis

The chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina(BiH), Zeljko Komsic, is scheduled to meet with Pope Francis in the Vatican at the end of this week.

It would be the second official meeting of the BiH Presidency Chairman with Pope Francis, given that Komsic and Pope Francis met in February 2020, when it was stressed during the meeting that the Vatican will continue to provide constructive political support to BiH as a multiethnic state, and support for its path to Euro-Atlantic integration.

To recall, on October 25th, 2007, Zeljko Komsic, on behalf of BiH as the then member of the Presidency of BiH from the ranks of Croats, exchanged ratification instruments of the Basic Agreement between BiH and the Holy See in the Vatican.

Appreciating his contribution to the signing of this document, Pope Benedict XVI awarded Komsic at the end of April 2008.
