Chairman of the Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ITA BiH), Srdjan Amidzic, said yesterday that the politicization of numbers, which has been done for years by the Department for Macroeconomic Analysis of the Board of Directors of the ITA, is inadmissible.
Among other things, he stated that Republika Srpska (RS) allegedly received more money.
“I don’t see anything controversial in that. Someone is trying to harm an entity through a political stance. In this case, the RS. Yes, it is true, according to today’s coefficients, the RS will earn a little more, about 1%. The Settlement Decision was also adopted, and according to that decision, the inflow into the budget of the RS will be higher by about 14.5 million BAM. These coefficients represent a matter of economic activity. Until now, it was unfair that these payments were based on lower coefficients because we did not have a Minister of Finance of BiH”, he said yesterday.
However, the reaction of Aner Zuljevic, the SDP delegate in the Parliament of the Federation of BiH (FBiH), immediately followed. Namely, he pointed out on social media that the essence of the numbers was different.
“Poisoning the public about the “treacherous Coalition of the Three” through the comments of a news item shows how superficial and prone to manipulation we are, and how unwilling we are to check what the content of the news itself actually means. When you read the title, the conclusion is that the “treacherous Coalition of the Three” gave something to the RS, but the essence of the numbers is different,” said Zuljevic.
In the end, Zuljevic said that what will destroy us the most is fanaticism and defending positions about which, as he says, we know little or nothing.
“We will be destroyed by bigotry and defending the positions about which we know little or nothing just to defend ‘our own’ even though in this country everything is ours on every part of it. I will not accept anything less than that!”
“At the end, I should add, and I should have at the beginning, congratulations to Sasa Magazinovic and all those who were part of the story that ended today with the adoption of the ordinance regulating the tax treatment of donated food,” he concluded yesterday, N1 reports.
