Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, is on an official visit to the Holy See in the Vatican today. The visit began with a general audience with the Holy Father, Pope Francis.
Krišto expressed the great honor that the Holy Father received her delegation during Holy Week when Pope Francis leads Catholic rites on the eve of the most important Christian holiday – Easter.
She also expressed immense honor on the occasion of the audience and congratulated Pope Francis on the tenth anniversary of his pontificate.
BiH CoM Chair pointed out that with his words and gestures, Pope Francis encourages a brave spirit of unity and brotherly love, which is particularly important for all religious and national communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
She recalled the Pope’s visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2015 when Pope Francis emphasized the importance of tolerance, dialogue and cooperation between different peoples and religions for the common good. Chair Krišto expressed her belief that the engagement of the Holy See in favor of reconciliation, dialogue and mutual trust in the region, as well as support for the European integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will continue in the period to come.
She said that the new convocation of the Council of Ministers has already made significant strides and that they will continue with further dedicated work to make significant progress in the following period when it comes to the continuation of the reform process, such as the fulfillment of 14 key priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission, on the path to joining the European Union.
