kamilica(12)Returnees Mato Pekić and Mijo Dominiković decided to deal with the production of chamomile and pumpkins. For now, they are producing from 20 hectares of land, and their aim is to increase their land by tenfold.

The production of chamomile is simple, but for it to be profitable, this plant has to be planted in large quantities, and special kilns are necessary, for which a large sum of money is necessary.

The young producers from Zasavica established contacts with buyers in Croatia, Germany and Switzerland. Due to this year’s yield and quality, pharmacological companies promised that in the future they would gather as much as they produce.

Except for ensuring the livelihoods for their families in this way, Pekić and Dominiković employ five more people. If they expand their work, they would be able to employ more people.

Municipality Bosanski Šamac supports the production of chamomile.

“The local community supports their return and development, and we have in the regulations of the local community and at the level of the RS incentives’’, said Mijo Bandić from the Department of Agriculture in municipality Bosanski Šamac.
