The miners of the brown coal mine in Zenica in the “Raspotocje” and “Stara jama” plants have ended the workers’ disobedience, and yesterday, the second shift of miners wentdown into the pit again.

“The funds for the payment of October salaries have been transferred, so that the payments of October salaries to the miners have started,” confirmed the president of the Union of Zenica brown coal mine, Elvedin Avdic.

He points out that although the miners got what they earned, this problem is repeated again and again, and requires a systemic solution, which will be discussed today at the meeting as part of the continuation of the negotiation process regarding collective agreements.

“This is a game of nerves both with the miners and with us trade unionists, this is neither the first, nor the second, nor the third time, nor the last time. This will happen in the future and that is why we are not happy because it happen that they wait for theirnext salary like this again, so we’ll see what happens,” emphasized Avdic.

To recall, in these mines, which employ around 930 workers, the salary was supposed to be paid by the 15th of the month, which did not happen, so the miners went on strike on Tuesday.
