First bicycling race Sarajevo Grand Prix will be held on 22nd June at 11:00 o’clock, with starting point in front of the City administration in Eastern Sarajevo. Director of Tour de France Christian Prudhomme, ten champions of this biggest bicyclical race and the President of European Bicyclical Union confirmed their arrivals.
According to Zlatko Berbić, president of the Bicyclical Union of B&H, till today, 100 contestants applied and who will pass path of 140 km through 14 municipalities.
SGP 2014 is part of the project “Sarajevo-heart of Europe”, in which 9 countries took participation and which wanted to be the part of ceremony which remembers on the beginning of the First World War.
“This is the project which gathers the greatest number of people, because apart of its sports character, this race has recreational character as well. Our aim is to gather 5 000 people who will be dressed in recognizable T-shirts with the inscription Sarajevo Grand Prix”, said Berbić.
Promotional video will start from 1st of June. Dino Merlin and multiple world champion in bicycling, Claudia Carceroni de Carvahlo, who will send message on French, will appear in video. From the very beginning, this project has support from the Embassy of France in B&H and from ambassador Roland Gilles.
