Local elections in BiH will be held on Sunday, October 2. Parties and independent candidates have been preparing for this day intensely, and the Central Election Commission (CIK) is also busy.

Local elections in BiH will cost around eight million BAM and will be financed by the state and municipalities. Nine city mayors and 132 municipal mayors will be elected in the local elections in BiH in 2016.
Moreover, 74 municipal councils will be elected in the FBiH and 58 municipal assemblies in the BiH entity of Republika Srpska. A total of 140 city and municipal mayors in BiH will be elected – 78 in the FBiH and 62 in Republika Srpska.
Also elected in the local elections in BiH in 2016 will be the Assembly of Brčko District, Assembly of the City of Banja Luka and Mayor of the City of Banja Luka, and assemblies of the cities Prijedor, Bijeljina, Doboj and Trebinje, as well as city councils of Bihać, Tuzla, Zenica and Široki Brijeg.
