Children from a total of 13 elementary schools from Mostar walked along the streets of Mostar as part of the ceremonial promenade “I Love Bosnia and Herzegovina”, with which they marked March 1, the Independence Day of BiH.

Semir Sejtanic, director of the Elementary School Mujaga Komadina, said that the promenade is organized for the second year in a row and that children from 13 elementary schools participated in this event.

“Our main goal is to send a positive message and love for our country from Mostar, especially because our media are full of negative images. Our youth sent a message that this city has a perspective, that it has a future, and these children showed love on behalf of all citizens of Mostar”, said director Sejtanic.

He also added that this date is definitely one of the most important ones in the history of Mostar and BiH, and therefore, they decided to organize comprehensive four-day program.

The promenade started on the Old Bridge. During the walk, schoolchildren from other schools also joined them, and the walk ended on the Spanish Square where the Minister of Education, Science and Culture of the HNC addressed the children.

“The Independence Day of BiH, one of the most important dates, is marked on March 1. A very important thing happened on this day 26 years ago, and we will celebrate this day for a long time because here we can see young generations that will mark it in the future as well. This children will build BiH as a state of all of its citizens,” said Minister Rasid Hadzovic.

The promenade of schoolchildren is part of a four-day program that is organized on the occasion of the Independence Day in the HNC, which is implemented in six municipalities, and it will be finalized with the official ceremony that will take place in the National Theatre of Mostar.
