China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are holding their second annual joint air force exercise in the autonomous region of Xinjiang.

The Falcon Shield 2024 joint training exercise between the Chinese and UAE air forces is taking place in the northwestern province of Xinjiang from late June to late July.

The Chinese Ministry of Defense stated that the goal of the exercise is to enhance mutual understanding and trust, deepen exchanges and cooperation, advance strategic collaboration, and achieve the shared goals and expectations of both parties.

Last year, the same exercise was held in Xinjiang in August.

Simultaneously, Chinese and Laotian troops are conducting the joint military exercise “China-Laos Friendship Shield 2024” in the Laotian capital of Vientiane.

Additionally, Chinese forces held an opening ceremony two days ago for the China-Belarus Eagle Assault 2024 exercise in the southwestern city of Brest in Belarus, near the border with Poland.
