Chollet: The US remains committed to the mandate of the High Representative

Derek Chollet, Special Adviser to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, thanked BiH High Representative Christian Schmidt for the report to be submitted to the UN Security Council.

“The United States remains committed to the mandate of the High Representative and the full implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement to ensure that all BiH citizens have the opportunity for a brighter future,” Chollet said.

A session of the United Nations Security Council on Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held on Wednesday, May 11.

Also, High Representative Christian Schmidt should submit a semi-annual report on his work and his view of the current situation in the country.

Although, according to earlier writings, the plan of SNSD leader and BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik was to address Council of Ministers Chairman Zoran Tegeltija (SNSD) before the Security Council, after it was confirmed that Sefik Dzaferovic is traveling to New York, he will not happen because before the UN Security Council officials are addressing “according to hierarchy”.

Thus, he is a member of the Presidency of BiH ex officio above the Chairman of the Council of Ministers. Dodik, for example, could address a session in New York, but he has long been on the American black list, within which he was banned from entering the United States, Klix.ba writes.
