Yesterday in Sarajevo, the promotion of the book of the former high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Christian Schwarz-Schilling, was held, during which he addressed current political issues in BiH.
When it comes to the electoral law, Schwarz-Schilling repeated his previously expressed position saying: “I have complete confidence in Mr. Schmidt”, and added that he is sure that the high representative will make the right decision that will be in the interest of all citizens of BiH.
When it comes to the Bonn powers and whether the high representatives have certain instructions or recommendations as to whether they can use them, Schwarz-Schilling replied that there are no restrictions or instructions on this matter and that it is good that the high representative Christian Schmidt decided to use them.
When asked what he thinks about the pressures aimed at abolishing the Office of the High Representative (OHR), Schwarz-Schilling said that “now would be the worst time to abolish the OHR” and repeated that he was the one who prevented its abolition during his mandate.
Schwarz-Schilling mentioned Serbia, but also Croatia, as the side that interferes the most in the internal politics of BiH, and that lately their interference is much more intense than it was before, Klix.ba writes.
