12939083_1751400721763271_1600551387_nIn the organization of members of the Association of women in Tuzla, a humanitarian action called “the Day of Narcissus” was organized yesterday in the city center. The aim of the campaign was primarily to draw the attention on the importance of prevention in the fight against breast cancer.

“This year’s ‘the Day of Narcissus’, besides drawing attention to the importance of prevention, we also dedicated to the campaign through which we want that part of the proceeds from the excise tax on tobacco to be allocated for treatment of patients that are suffering from any type of oncological diseases. We believe that tobacco is the biggest cause of oncological diseases, or in this case lung cancer, which, unfortunately, is taking more lives in BiH,” said president of the Association of women of Tuzla, Mujesira Haman.

Everyone who decided to visit the booth, which was set at Tuzla Kapija (Gate) on the first day of the weekend, were able to purchase narcissus at the price of 1 BAM and homemade cakes at the price of 2 BAM, and support the work of the association in the implementation of activities related to patients with breast cancer.

Members of this and similar associations are emphasizing the importance of prevention and early detection of breast cancer in any situation.

Tuzla activists also emphasized the need for greater involvement of society in the prevention and fight against malignant disease.

They note that all citizens of BiH have the right on adequate and equal treatment, regardless of what kind of disease it is.
