The Canton Sarajevo Ministry of Internal Affairs will have 300 new police officers and inspectors, and will raise the security of citizens of Canton Sarajevo at a higher level.
Minister of Internal Affairs of Canton Sarajevo Nermin Pećanac told Oslobođenje that the cantonal government supported the written initiative on starting procedures to employ 130 new police officers.
‘’At the Ministry, we are coming to an end of a procedure in order to send material for its adoption next week to the Canton Sarajevo government, so that the government can give consent to this decision. After they finish the training that already began, this year 170 police officers will begin to work earlier. The training that will take place in Vrace for young inspectors will last for half a year, and one year for police officers. After that, the Police Commissioner will, in accordance with needs, deploy the new officers in the police departments’’, said Minister Pećanac.
The Minister said that this is a very important initiative that is supported by all members of the government of Canton Sarajevo with the Prime Minister Suad Zeljković.
‘’We expect that this would be adopted unanimously, so that we can begin preparations to employ 130 additional police officers. The employment of young inspectors and police officers will not burden the budget too much this year, because while the training is coming to an end, these people will probably be on the job from the end of October, so funds for their salaries will be provided. During the planning of the budget for 2015, attention will be paid to find the money for these employees. With 300 new people, we will provide additional security to citizens and reduce crime on the streets’’, said Minister Pećanac.
