“City of Art”: Artists bringing Old Glory back to Počitelj

pociteljThe second international meeting of young creators of culture “City of Art – Počitelj” will host about 50 students and mentors from BiH and abroad from 8th to 19th of July in this town.

Among the mentors will be maestro Safet Zec, Rinko Golubovic, Vedran Fajkovic, Damir Imamovic, Vlado Podany, Imrana Kapetanovic, Haris Dedovic and professors from the University of Bologna who showed an interest for their university to become a permanent partner of the project City of Art.

“Aim and main idea of the meeting is introduction and gathering of young artists in culture, exchange of ideas and establishment of cooperation on common multimedia projects, inter-religious and inter-ethnic tolerance and respect, restoring of former glory to Pocitelj, and promotion of cultural heritage of Pocitelj, the municipality of Capljina and BiH,” said the President of the Association of affirmation of culture and art “City of Arts”, Hamdija Karalic.

This association organizes meetings together with the Municipality of Capljina, Safet Zec, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sport and the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of FBiH, with the help of friends of the project Sarajevo Brewery, Autoprevoz Mostar and MFK Sunrise.

Official opening of the meeting, “City of Art – Pocitelj” will be on Friday, the 8th of July  at 8 pm in the courtyard of Fine Arts Colony with singing group Trebizat and famous pianist Vlado Podany. Mayor of Capljina, Smiljan Vidic, will open the meeting.

The director of this year’s meeting is Nedim Karalic, and program director is Gorcin Zec.
