Marathon Runners run 500 Kilometers for Victims in Srebrenica

srebrenicaWith continuous relay race, 23 participants’ of “Supermaraton Bihac – Potocari 2016″ will give its contribution to marking of the 21st anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide,” as confirmed by the creator of this marathon, Jasmin Halilovic.

He emphasized that there will also be three women among the participants who will run 480 kilometers from the 8th to 10th of July, which has not been the case before.

“We are divided into seven groups and we will run day and night. This is our modest contribution to the Srebrenica people who have experienced much greater pain than our blisters,” said Halilovic.

They plan to arrive in Potocari on the 10th of July, when they will join the participants’ of the Peace March 2016 and on the 11th of July they are planning to attend the collective funeral of 127 victims of Srebrenica, including 12 minors.

So far in Potocari was buried a total of 6,377 victims.
