brojac_prometaThe Ministry of Spatial Planning, Transport and Communications of Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) bought two automatic traffic counters in order to collect data on traffic load and the structural flow on regional roads.

With these automatic counters, for which the cantonal government donated 50.000 BAM, they will now be able to accurately determine the precise data on traffic flows on the road network and it will be easier to manage road traffic systems.

The data represent the basic information for decision-making on the future development and operation of road networks and is one of the main input parameters for the efficient development of a strategy to improve traffic conditions and safety on the existing system.

Traffic counters were installed on the regional road R-441, in the part that passes through the neighborhood Čajdraš near Zenica, and on the regional road R-445 in the neighborhood Muhašinovići near Visoko.

It is planned to set up a total of 24 counters, and the first two are a pilot project that will provide the first useful indicators in determining the parameters necessary for better regulation of road transport.
