The City of Sarajevo has sent assistance consisting of protective equipment, masks, visiers, disinfectants, to Italian cities to combat Coronavirus pandemic, Klix.ba news portal reports.

“This is a gesture of generosity of Sarajevo. The donation was received by Mayor Matteo Bifoni and Commissioner Flora Leoni,” the Italian media reported after the aid has arrived in the fraternal city of Prato.

The city administration has learned that assistance has been requested and received by the cities of Venice and Ferrara and Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka confirmed this information, saying it was a message of solidarity.

“We have sent assistance to the best of that we could. The assistance is symbolic and has made many in Italy happy. The Municipality of Novo Sarajevo has joined us as well. Masks, visors and other equipment manufactured in Bosnia and Herzegovina are already in use in Italy,” Skaka said.
