“Claims that the EU is involved in Court Proceedings in BiH are false”

The EU Delegation to BiH has issued a statement regarding what they say are unfounded allegations about the conduct of the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As they said, the European Union is and consistently remains the most loyal and reliable partner of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as by far the largest investor in the country, providing significant support for the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU.

“The EU has continuously and clearly emphasized that attacks on the territorial integrity, sovereignty and constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina are unacceptable. These principles cannot and will never be the subject of any negotiations. Moreover, the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary are fundamental principles for the EU. Claims that the EU is involved in judicial proceedings in Bosnia and Herzegovina are completely false and contrary to our values,” they said in a statement.

The delegation recalls that the EU has supported and will always support freedom of expression.

“However, unfounded accusations and speculative attacks are not only inaccurate, but also harmful and undermine trust. We urge the public not to fall for misinformation. We remain committed to transparency and integrity in our work,” the statement noted.

Finally, it is emphasized that the path to the EU is the best guarantee of prosperity, stability, functional democratic institutions and the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it calls on political actors to focus on achieving progress towards a future in the EU for the benefit of the citizens of BiH.
