The remains of the two victims are ready for burial at the collective funeral, which will be held on July 20 at the Kamicani Memorial Center in Kozarac.

The spokeswoman for the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH, Emza Fazlić, told Fena that these are victims who were killed in 1992 in the area of Prijedor, and their remains were exhumed during the discovery of mass graves in Hrastova Glavica and Jakarin Kos.

Sikirić (Hamdija) Ferid will be buried this year in Kamičani. He was born in 1960 in Hambarine in Prijedor. He was killed in 1992 in the Omarska camp, and his remains were exhumed in 1998 from the Hrastova Glavica mass grave. On July 20, he will be buried in the martyr’s cemetery of Hambarina.

Mešić (Adem) Izet will also find his final peace in Kamičani this year. He was born in 1960 in Prijedor, and disappeared in May 1992. His remains were exhumed in 2001 at the Jakarina Kosa site, and will be buried at the Skela Martyr’s Cemetery.

Fazlić states that the convoy with the remains of the victims who will be buried on July 20 will leave in front of the Šejkovac Identification Center on Wednesday, July 19, at 11 a.m.

The stop of the convoy was first planned at Trg ljiljana in Sanski Most, then in Ključ, Bosanski Petrovac, Bihać, Bosanska Krupa. The motorcade is also planned to stop in Bosanska Otoca, Bosanski Novi, in Prijedor – in front of the Čaršijska mosque.
The arrival in Kamičani is planned at 20:00.

Fazlić states that in the Šejkovac identification center, there are still 220 remains of victims of the last war from the area of Bosnian Krajina. Of this number, 60 cases were identified using the DNA method, while the remaining remains are in various stages of identification.

“When it comes to the Bosnian region, the search for the remains of around 850 victims is still underway, while the search for 500 victims is only in the area of Prijedor,” said Fazlić.
