The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, passed a Decision on the opening of temporary tariff quotas for the import of mineral fertilizers, as a support to farmers due to supply disruptions on the global market and rising prices.

The decision temporarily allows the tax-free import of a total of 370,000 tons of mineral fertilizers classified into seven tariff codes until the quantities prescribed by this decision are used up, and no later than December 31, 2023.

At the same time, this decision establishes the criteria for the application of temporary tariff quotas and the method of distribution.

As announced by the BiH CoM, according to this decision, the basic criterion for tax-free import of mineral fertilizers is that it is an import for the needs of agricultural producers in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina as end users.

In this way, the continuity of benefits for farmers has been ensured, after last March the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina allowed the tax-free import of 100,000 tons of mineral fertilizer.
