Commander of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, Brigadier General Matthew Valas, said during today’s visit to Banja Luka that cooperation with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (OSBiH) continues to develop through practical training and exchange of experiences, thus strengthening capabilities and partnership.

As part of ongoing efforts aimed at achieving progress in the reform of the defense and security sector, the visit of Brigadier General Valas included a series of activities at the “Kozara” barracks in Banja Luka, including meetings with the command staff of the 6th Infantry Brigade and the Support Command of the Armed Forces of BiH.

Special focus in the talks was on the continued assistance of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo to the Armed Forces of BiH in preparation for the NATO assessment (NEL-2) of the Light Infantry Battalion Group of the Armed Forces of BiH, which is planned to take place this year.

Valas also met with the head of the OHR Regional Office in Banja Luka, Ambassador Tamas Magda.

In the announcement of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, it was pointed out that they continue to cooperate closely with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and partner institutions to strengthen stability, security and cooperation, for the benefit of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
