Commemoration of the 24th Anniversary of the Battle for Zuc held

Organized by the Association “1st Famous – 111th Knights Brigade” – Sarajevo and on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the Battle of Zuc and the death of the war commanders Enver Ehovic and Zahir Paneta, as well as other soldiers, a delegation of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo, headed by mayor Nedzad Koldzo, laid flowers at the Martyrs’ Cemetery Kovači and specifically at the grave of the first president of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina Alija Izetbegovic and then at the Harem of the Alipasa’s Mosque, those attending observed a minute of silence and prayed to honor all martyrs and killed soldiers. The biography of Enver Sehovic, who was awarded the Order of the Heroes of the Liberation War, was also discussed.

Members of the family of the war commanders Enver Sehovic and Zahir Panjeta and the delegations of the Government of the FBiH and the Cantonal Ministry for Veterans’ Affairs, as well as soldiers’ associations, laid flowers.

The delegation of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo at 5:30 p.m. will lay flowers at the Memorial at the place where the war commanders and others were killed and at the Bare Hill Zuc, where a historical lesson will be held. Guests and participants will address the audience, followed by a meeting of veterans.

On Tuesday, July 25th, a little league soccer tournament was held at the side stadium in Grbavica in honor of the 24th anniversary of the Battle for Zuc and the deaths of the war commanders Enver Sehovic and Zahir Panjeta, as well as other soldiers.
