Commissioner of Sarajevo Canton Police Administration resigns

Commissioner of the Sarajevo Canton Police Administration, Nusret Selimović, resigned this morning, but will remain in that position until the Sarajevo Canton Government appoints someone else.

This was confirmed for FENA by the acting Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, Darija Softić-Kadenić.

As Klix.ba learns, Selimović has been under great pressure for a long time. He was criticized on certain technical-procedural issues and because of that he received negative evaluations from the Independent Board.

That Independent Committee should be sitting today, and as it was confirmed to Klix.ba, among other things, the members of that committee questioned Selimović about the procurement of material and technical means (which is largely influenced by the Law on Public Procurement), the budget, about how many crimes have been solved murders, promotion of police officers, rank and similar.

However, it is interesting that the Independent Committee did not ask for answers for the work of the Sarajevo police in the Sky case, because it was this huge case that involves a large number of criminal offenses that was “unpacked” by the Sarajevo police under the leadership of Selimović.

In the last year, a large number of people were arrested in the framework of that case, several drug smuggling chains were broken, and much more.

Selimović was not asked questions about the murder of Sarajevo police officers Adis Šehović and Davor Vujinović, although the suspects have been detained and the trial will soon begin.

Therefore, it is very indicative that Selimović has become a problem and that he is blamed for a series of problems, just at the moment when intense work is being done on the prosecution of suspects from the Sky application.
