The Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces (OS) BiH are committed to European and Euro-Atlantic integration. This commitment brings a number of obligations, one of which is for BiH to be ready to share the risks and difficulties in support operations of peace with the goal of constructing collective security, announced the Secretary of BiH Defense Zekerijah Osmić today in Sarajevo.
‘’Our objective is to continue to strive to meet NATO standards, and in this way we would be recognized as a credible partner of NATO, said Osmić during a briefing at the international logistic exercise “Logex 13”.
He said that the execution of these exercises in BiH represents a test of readiness of the BiH armed forces to lend logistical support as the role of host, which is marked as one of the partnership goals of BiH.
‘’Regardless of the small size of the BiH armed forces, our aspirations are to do what is necessary for the armed forces to be a valuable partner and an integral part of the joint NATO missions and operative missions of peace in the world’’, said Osmić.
He said that, given that representatives of the armed forces from NATO countries participated in this exercise, as well as representatives of member states of Partnerships for Peace and the armed forces in the region, represents a contribution to the strengthening of stability at a global and regional level.
In the international military logistic exercise “Logex 13” around 150 participants took part from 18 countries. The Ministry of Defense and BiH armed forces organized the exercise with the support of the American command in Europe and NATO Allied Command for Transformation.
The exercise will finish on 15 February.
