Sarajevo Mayor meets with the Slovenian Foreign Minister

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, as part of her official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, yesterday met with the Mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, and spoke about the candidate status of Bosnia and Herzegovina for membership in the European Union and projects implemented by the City of Sarajevo.

Minister Fajon reiterated once again that Bosnia and Herzegovina must take advantage of the opportunity given to it by the European Union and that the authorities must quickly fulfill 14 key priorities for further progress.

On this occasion, Minister Tanja Fajon was presented with a certificate of appreciation from the City of Sarajevo for her selfless support of Bosnia and Herzegovina on its European journey and obtaining the status of a candidate for EU membership.

“We will never forget the support that Minister Fajon provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina. This City Hall is also the house of Minister Fajon as of today. She is always welcome, as are all good people,” Mayor Karić said.

After the meeting, the Mayor of Sarajevo hosted Minister Fajon on a tour of the old part of the city.
