The conference ‘Biomass-Fuel of the Future’, organized by the UN Development Program in B&H (UNDP) in order to promote the use of biomass in B&H, will be held on Friday at 10:00.

Successful stories and examples of good practice in the area of the use of biomass in B&H and positive experiences from the Czech Republic will be presented, as well as the results of the previous UNDP project ‘Employment and secure supply of energy using biomass in B&H’ financed by the Global Environment Fund (GEF) and the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Zahira Virani, the Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP will speak at the conference, as well as the Ambassador of Czech Republic to B&H Tomaš Szunyog and Erna Alihodžić, Vice-President of the Biomass Association in B&H.

The aim of the conference is the gathering of interested parties from the area of wood processing, decision makers, public forest companies and potential investors.

Biomass represents huge potential in the total energy consumption in B&H and an economic potential for the development of small and medium businesses, directly impacting on increasing employment and export opportunities.
