Conference: “Depoliticization of public administration in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Is the state managed by eligible ones or capable ones?” will be held today in Sarajevo.
The conference is organized within the campaign “Država.ba“, which was started by the Center for Civic Initiative (CCI), in order to start with the depoliticization of public administration.
On this occasion, the representatives at the highest level of legislative and executive authority in the Federation of B&H and the cantons will have the opportunity to present their plans for the acceleration of the reform of public administration, with a focus on depoliticization and professionalization, especially in regards to appointments and the hiring of managers and public servants.
CCI’s research shows that the majority of appointments in the public administration are done by derogating institute of public competition, the competition or choice of the best candidates and giving an exclusive advantage to politically suitable candidates.
Personal skills, knowledge, experience and integrity of the candidate are not a crucial factor in appointments and employment in the public sector, but the party or familiar relationship, as said from the CCI.
