Conference on Improving Economic Cooperation of Russia and BiH

poslovni_ljudiThe BiH Foreign Trade Chamber (TVKBiH), in cooperation with the Embassy of Russia to BiH, is organizing a conference on 25 April in Sarajevo called “BiH and the Russian Federation-Possibilities of Improving Economic Cooperation”.

The VTKBiH is planning more activities this year in the field of strengthening ties between BiH and Russian companies for the intensification of mutual cooperation.

It was said to Fena Agency by TVKBiH that in 2012 BiH exports to Russia amounted to 28,6 million euros, and imports to Russia were 128,2 million euros.

BiH mostly imported medicine, fruit, shoes, leather, artificial leather, unmanufactured tobacco to Russia, and imported from Russia natural gas, coal, carbon, carbon electrodes, and furnace burners for liquid fuel, electric motors, power generators and ferro-alloys.

The conference represents the first step in planned activities for better understanding of BiH companies of the Russian market and the possibilities of establishing better business cooperation. It is anticipated that interested businesses get to know about the institutional arrangements for the development of economic cooperation of Russia and BiH.

According to the VTKBiH, during the conference representatives from the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs (office for economic diplomacy), Russian Embassy in BiH, representative of the Russian Foreign Trade Chamber and representative of VTKBiH will address participants. The second part will present examples of current economic cooperation.

After the official part of the ceremony, interested business companies and relevant institutions will have the opportunity to establish mutual contacts in direct discussions.

The experience in business companies with a majority Russian capital in BiH will be presented-Optima Grupa, Nis Petrol, Jadran-Naftagas, and there will be a mention of Sberbank that opened its first branch in Sarajevo a few days ago.
