International conference “Participation and situation of women in war from 1914 until 2014” will be held on 7 and 8 June 2014 at the Bosnian Cultural Center in Sarajevo.
This conference is organized by international feminist academic -activists organization Žene u Ratu/Women in war in cooperation with Center for Interdisciplinary studies, Gender Studies of Sarajevo University, Women Alternative government of B&H in the framework of the peace event Sarajevo 2014, 6-9 June.
The theme of the conference joins the global program of marking the 100 anniversary of First World War.
This conference is the first in the series of annual conferences , which will be organized in the next four year, aiming to show the various roles of women during armed conflicts in world.
The organizer of the conference Carol Mann, a representative of association Women in war, Nejra Čengić on behalf of the Center for Interdisciplinary Post graduate Studies of Sarajevo University, Dragana Dardić on behalf of Women Alternative government and Nermina Trbonja on behalf of association Women in war will open this conference, announced the Association Women in War.
