pociteljThe construction of a bridge near Pocitelj, north of this BiH cultural and historical pearl, will start in a few weeks, according to a reliable source.

However, the contract for the construction of this section, including the aforementioned bridge around which many political debates were held, has not been signed yet, because the expropriation has not been completed, said the Minister of Communications and Transport Ismir Jusko. This section is financed mainly from the funds of the European Investment Bank (EIB), which is operative, said Minister, adding that the assessment and offer for LOT 1 has been completed. Minister Jusko noted that realization of the project is not in question.

From the Public Company Motorways of the FBiH told us that after they have adopted the Law on Amendments to the Law on Expropriation in May this year, they have created conditions for the completion of expropriation:

“We expect the two projects worth 100 million Euros on the section Pocitelj – Medjugorje, including bridge Pocitelj, to be signed soon. The contract will be signed after obtaining the approval of the EIB for both lots: for the subsection Pocitelj – Zvirovici – LOT 1: Loop Pocitelj – Bridge Pocitelj and the subsection Pocitelj – Zvirovici – LOT 2: Bridge Pocitelj – Zvirovici,” according to the Public Company Motorways of FBIH, emphasizing that the section Pocitelj – Medjugorje will be divided into two lots and includes six cadastral districts.

It includes about 374 parcels and 122 items. The implementation of expropriation is more than 90%. Assessment of the value of the land is being determined by experts of agricultural and civil engineering profession.

“The price for this section ranged from 2.5 to 22 BAM per m2, which depended on, for example, the position of the land, etc. The funds for the expropriation are provided from our own revenues,” according to the PE Motorways of the FBiH. But why the expropriation has not been fully completed when it started about a year and a half ago? A source confirms that it truly takes abnormally long.

“The situation got even more complicated by the fact that this public good has been used by some people for years, so we had to make a number of decisions in order to fix the property relations” said the source from the Federal Government.

The deadline for the construction of subsection Pocitelj – Medjugorje, including bridge Pocitelj, is 30 months, according to the PE Motorways of the FBiH.
