Construction of the biggest Blueberry Plantation in Europe started

plantationAt the area of the Municipality of Zivinice started the realization of another major project that will ensure new job places. German company “Elisa Berry” in cooperation with the Municipality of Zivinice started the construction of one of the largest blueberry plantations in Europe.

“Elisa Berry” is one of the biggest companies in Europe, which is engaged in the purchases of fruits and vegetables, but they also have their own production on the plantations all over the world. In the village Dubrave, the Municipality of Zivinice, on the surface area of over 30 hectares, this company started to plant new culture of blueberries that should give the first fruits in the next 2 years. The owner of “Elisa Berry” concluded land lease contract with the Cantonal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, and he is properly fulfilling his obligations. The most modern measures are applied when it comes to the irrigation of plantations and the entire infrastructure is provided.
