Consumer prices in the Federation of BiH in May this year decreased 0.4 percent on average compared to the previous month.
Prices increased in the sections: restaurants and hotels by 3.3 percent, other goods and services by 1.0 percent, clothing and footwear by 0.8 percent, furniture, household appliances and regular home maintenance by 0.7 percent, health by 0.5 percent, food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, and recreation and culture by 0.3 percent and education by 0.1 percent.
Prices fell in the sections: transportation by 2.9 percent and housing, water, electricity, gas and other energy products by 2.6 percent, the FBiH Statistics Bureau stated.
In May 2023, compared to May 2022, prices increased by 5.8 percent (annual inflation).
In May 2023, the Federation of BiH achieved exports worth 989,678,000 BAM, which is 6.0 percent more compared to April 2023 or 7.4 percent less compared to May of the previous year.
In May 2023, imports in the value of 1,687,461,000 BAM were realized, which was 4.1 percent more compared to April 2023, or 3.7 percent less compared to May 2022.
In the period January – May 2023, exports grew by 0.98 percent on average every month, and imports fell by 0.57 percent on average.
The percentage of the import-export ratio in May was 58.6 percent, which was 1.0 percent more than in April 2023, when the coverage was 57.6 percent.
The trade deficit of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for May 2023 was 697,783,000 BAM, according to data from the FBiH Bureau of Statistics.
In May, the FBiH exported the most to Germany, Croatia and Austria, and imported the most from Italy, Germany and China.
