Representative of the Commission for Foreign Affairs of Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and BiH spoke in Sarajevo today on continuing mutual cooperation and identifying problems that would include addressing parliaments of these four countries.

According to the Chairman of the Commission for Foreign Affairs of the BiH House of Representatives Mirza Kušljugić, at today’s meeting they will discuss the social dimension of energy policy.

“We want to encourage local governments and international factors to not forget the socially vulnerable in the design of energy policy”, said Kušljugić.

The President of the Committee for Foreign Affairs of the National Assembly of Serbia Marija Obradović assessed that this is a chance for parliamentarians of the four countries to align their legislation in order to create a better life for their citizens.

She said that at today’s meeting the parliamentary commission would further review the conclusions proposed at the first meeting, held last October in Zagreb. Next June in Belgrade there should be talks of concrete proposals in the area of energy, environmental protection, infrastructure and many other issues.

The President of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Croatian Parliament Milorad Pupovac said that Croatia, as an upcoming member of the EU, has a particular interest to be one of the first forces of enlargement and Europeanization of the region.

The President of the Committee for International Relations and Expatriates of Montenegro Miodrag Vuković said that he is satisfied with the collaboration of the four commissions and adds that his country is particularly interested in ecology, which is a problem not only in Montenegro, but in the region and throughout the world.

The first meeting of the Committee/Board for Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and BiH was held on 19 October 2012 in Zagreb.
