Council of Ministers of BiH makes Decision on the Allocation of 20 Million BAM for Flooded Areas

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its 48th extraordinary session, adopted a Decision on the distribution of international aid funds to flooded areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina from donated funds recorded in the Single Treasury Account of Bosnia and Herzegovina, prepared by the Ministry of Security, the Council of Ministers of BiH announced.

Funds totaling 20,397,017.38 BAM were received as donations from the Government of the Republic of Croatia (19,558,300.00 BAM), the Government of Kosovo (390,944.99 BAM), the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China (10,000 BAM), the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan (391,166 BAM) and employees of BiH institutions (46,606.39 BAM).

Criteria for the distribution of aid in accordance with the conclusion of the 61st session of the BiH Council of Ministers include: the number of households affected by floods, the number of damaged residential, business and other buildings, the urgency of interventions, the length of damaged local, regional and highway road infrastructure and bridges, the affected area of ​​local riverbeds and canals, and the amount of estimated damage to other public and communal infrastructure.

When approving funds, the priority needs of vulnerable residents of local communities were taken into account in order to ensure effective and fair help in remediating the consequences of floods.

The funds were distributed to: the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina 1,063,617.36 KM (5.21%), the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton 2,759,259.35 KM (13.53%), the Central Bosnia Canton 1,031,159.53 KM (5.06%), the cities of Mostar 341,323.08 KM (1.61%) and Konjic 4,400,726.24 KM (21.58%) and eight municipalities: Fojnica 1,837,064.36 KM (9.01%), Kiseljak 1,716,664.58 KM (8.42%), Kreševo ​​2,296,208.86 KM (11.26%), Jablanica 4,774,154.63 KM (23.41 %), Vareš 74,137.41 KM (0.36%), Drvar 26,454.02 KM (0.13%), Visoko 66,135.07 KM (0.32%) and Breza 10,112.89 KM (0.05%).

The Ministry of Security will distribute each subsequent donation, or funds collected on this account, in accordance with these percentages.

The final beneficiaries of these funds, after the implementation of the projects, are obliged to submit a report on the expenditure to the Ministry of Security of BiH.
