Hearing held for Emir Selimović, prosecution requests detention

According to the suspicions of the investigative authorities, the crime occurred on February 12 in the early morning hours, between 3 and 6 a.m., in the family apartment in Kalesija. Selimović, it is alleged, took advantage of the helplessness of his loved ones while they were sleeping and squeezed their necks with his hands until they stopped breathing. Death occurred due to suffocation.

After committing the crimes, the suspect fled in a car owned by his wife and hid from the police and investigative authorities for days. He was found five days after the murder in the territory of the Bosnian entity of RS.

The Prosecutor’s Office announced that Selimović faces a prison sentence of at least 10 years, while the law also provides for the possibility of long-term imprisonment of up to 45 years.

The investigation is ongoing.
