Considering that numerous tourists are expected to come to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming period due to the tourist season, there is great interest from those who intend to come to BiH under what conditions they can do so, given the still present restrictions in the world due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Due to the constant turmoil on the political scene in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the decision of the Council of Ministers of BiH from the session held at the end of May, which concerns the conditions of entry and stay of foreigners in BiH, passed almost unnoticed.

Namely, the Council of Ministers of BiH, at the proposal of the Ministry of Security, made a decision at the end of May to terminate the decision on prescribing additional conditions for entry of foreigners into Bosnia and Herzegovina, thus abolishing previously adopted Covid restrictive measures for entry into BiH.

The decision was made on the basis of data from the competent health institutions on the favorable epidemiological situation in BiH for a long time and due to the fact that most countries in the region and the world abolished all measures for foreign nationals to enter their countries.

In this way, the earlier decision on prescribing additional conditions for the entry of foreigners into Bosnia and Herzegovina and its amendments published in the “Official Gazette of BiH”, No. 57/20, 58/20 and 36/21, ceases to be valid.

The session also passed a Decision on the termination of the Decision on Restricting the Movement and Stay of Foreigners in Bosnia and Herzegovina, made to protect the health of citizens after the World Health Organization declared a pandemic caused by a coronavirus in March 2020.

By making this decision, the measures prohibiting the movement and stay of foreigners outside the centers in which they are located cease to apply.

These two decisions enter into force on the day of their adoption and will be published in the “Official Gazette of BiH”.
