Croatian Minister: Gas coming through Terminal from Krk can also supply BiH

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Croatia Davor Filipović pointed out today in Mostar that Croats in Croatia and Croats in BiH are one being and that the position of Croats in BiH is one of the most important foreign policy priorities of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.

“The closest cooperation between our two countries is quite logical. One of the most important foreign policy priorities of the Government of the Republic of Croatia is the position of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina as one of the three constituent nations. Thanks to the wise and intelligent policy of Prime Minister (Andrej) Plenković, there were changes to the Election Law in BiH, which strengthened the position of the Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Corats are now perceived in this country as a stabilizing factor and a key factor on BiH’s European path, and the Government of Croatia will provide maximum support on that path,” said Filipović.

He stated that energy topics and strengthening of economic cooperation were discussed today in Mostar.

“We discussed the subject of the Southern Interconnection when it comes to the further gasification of Bosnia and Herzegovina because in this crisis Croatia is becoming the energy hub of this part of Europe. The construction of the LNG terminal on the Krk island turned out to be a strategic project that enabled us not to be afraid of whether there would be enough gas in Croatia, and we decided to double the capacities precisely to be at the disposal of our neighbors, the countries in our environment. We also think of the Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina and we are thinking of building a route in Croatia to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are here in close cooperation with Čović to make gasification on this side of the border so that the gas coming through our LNG terminal from Krk can also supply Bosnia and Herzegovina. We will continue to support Mr. Čović and the Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” emphasized Filipović.
