The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic, called in Mostar for the renewal of the alliance between Croats and Bosniaks in the Federation of BiH.

Plenkovic stated this after a meeting with representatives of Croatian political parties gathered around the Croatian National Parliament, with whom I discussed current political topics.

The Croatian Prime Minister reminded that the Strategic Compass of the European Union, a document that defines the policy of defense and security, at the proposal of the Republic of Croatia included a reference to the constituency of the people in order to recognize a fundamental principle to be respected by the international community “, BHRT writes.

“We believe that additional efforts are needed, especially between the leaders of the Croat and Bosniak parties, to take further steps, and with the help of the international community, to find a solution. We want Bosnia and Herzegovina to function better and more evenly after the next elections,” he said.

Therefore, the Croatian Prime Minister added, the alliance between Croats and Bosniaks needs to be renewed, and in order for that to happen, it is necessary to establish trust and greater understanding for the positions of both.

“For its part, Croatia, as the only member of the European Union bordering Bosnia and Herzegovina, will do everything to increase trade, increase investment, strengthen infrastructure, and speed up the path to the European Union.” , said Plenkovic.

Commenting on the possibility of reaching an agreement on changes to the election legislation, HDZ BiH President Dragan Covic added that this possibility should be believed in as long as there is time.

“We need to create an environment and partnership with the Bosniak people, change the Election Law at least in the smallest part we had at the last meeting in Sarajevo around the House of Peoples and the Presidency, and create a normal, democratic election process,” Covic said.

The President of the HDZ BiH reiterated that there are no formal legal conditions for organizing elections in BiH.
