Croatians Stage Nationwide Boycott: “No Buying, No Paying” Protest Gains Momentum

A boycott of all stores and all products has been announced in Croatia for today. The Helo, Inspector platform, which organizes boycotts, has called on consumers not to buy anything anywhere today.

“A one-day boycott. Everything. Today we are not buying anything. Neither physically nor online. We are not paying anything,” the organizers wrote.

Incidentally, in this country, the announced weekly boycott of the Lidl, Eurospin and DM retail chains and three products – Coca-Cola and other carbonated drinks, bottled water and dishwashing detergents – began yesterday at the call of the Helo, Inspector platform.

Croatian media have been publishing photos yesterday and today showing that retail chains are almost empty.

That the boycott is yielding results was confirmed yesterday by information that the Konzum retail chain has announced price cuts for 250 domestic products that are not covered by the government’s decision on price limits.

Earlier, the Government of Croatia announced the expansion of the list of products with limited prices to 70 items.
