Ballet spectacle and one of the most popular performances “the Nutcracker” (Scelkuncik) will be premiered on November 29, at the National Theater in Sarajevo. This is the reason for constant sound of beautiful melodies of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky from this theater houses.
It is interesting that this cult ballet performance in two acts will return to the scene of the National Theater Sarajevo after 44 years.
“Every ballerina must feel and experience this kind of ballet on her body. It is a great and important project for me and the theater,” said ballerina Zulejha Keco.
This cult ballet performance in two acts was made by the music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and it was directed and choreographed by Konstantin Kostjukov, the director of the Ballet National Theater of Belgrade.
This ballet was performed for the first time on December 19, 1892, in the setting of Marius Petipe. The popularity of “the Nutcracker” ballet constantly increased and today, it represents the basis of the repertoire of all European and world theater houses. The Ballet of the National Theater Sarajevo last time performed it in 1973 in the choreography by Slavko Pervan.
The first repetition is scheduled for December 1, and the second one for December 26.
