Cure – The Life of Another Opened the Competition Programme – Feature Film

cure the life of anotherOn Saturday, the most recent film by director Andrea Štaka, CURE – THE LIFE OF ANOTHER, was screened as part of the Competition Programme – Features.

The film takes place in 1993, after the siege of Dubrovnik. Fourteen-year-old Linda has moved back to Croatia from Switzerland with her father. Her new best friend Eta takes her up to the forbidden forest above the city. The two girls become entangled in an obsessive, sexually charged game that leads to fatal consequences.

Andrea Štaka was born in 1973 in Switzerland where she graduated from the MFA film program at the School of Visual Arts in Zurich. Her feature film FRAULEIN won the Golden Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival and the Heart of Sarajevo at the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2006. She is a member of the European Film Academy.

CURE – THE LIFE OF ANOTHER was screened at the National Theatre, at 20:00.
