Cvijanovic: Citizens of the RS have the Right to protest, no one can prevent them

Serbian member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović said today in Banja Luka that the citizens of Republika Srpska have the right to protests and support rallies, because RS is a democratic society in which everyone can express their opinion and no one from the Federation of BiH can prevent them from doing so.

“Everything is done in accordance with the law, and that’s why I condemn the threats coming from FBiH, that is, from the Minister of Internal Affairs,” Cvijanović told reporters in Banja Luka today, Srna reports.

She pointed out that, when democracy should be shown in FBiH, then it is not there.

“I don’t know why it would be a problem for the Association of Serbs from the FBiH to organize protests in the Federation. Different political parties could protest in the FBiH, they came in front of the OHR building, judicial institutions, and it is obvious that there is a political goal to block the Serb protests.” stated Cvijanović.

She assessed that it is important that the Association of Serbs from the FBiH and the citizens of the Republika Srpska will do what they think, and that means that if they want to protest, then they will.

“I expect that today the citizens will successfully send a message to all those who have been harassing us here for decades and asking us to crawl and be what we are not. It shows that the judicial institutions of BiH, which are not foreseen by the Constitution but imposed, often make political decisions, not legal ones”, said Cvijanović.

She reminded that there are three foreigners working in the Constitutional Court of BiH, which shows that BiH does not have sovereignty and cannot rely on its own capacities.

“When we look at the decisions of this court, it is evident that they are politically motivated and that they have nothing to do with the Constitution that they are supposed to protect. They embarked on the adventure of creating legal and constitutional solutions. That is why citizens have the right to protest and no one from FBiH can prevent them.” , concluded Cvijanović.

The Sarajevo police banned the holding of today’s announced protest of the Committee for the Protection of Serb Rights in FBiH in front of the Court and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH due to “failure to meet formal conditions and for security reasons”.

The Committee for the Protection of the Rights of Serbs in the FBiH then invited the citizens of the Republika Srpska to gather today at the previously announced locations in the Republika Srpska in order to support the entity institutions.

On August 24, Committee President Đorđe Radanović submitted a request to hold a peaceful rally on September 1 in front of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office in Sarajevo due to the political indictment against the President of the Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik and the acting director of the “Official Gazette of Srpska” Miloš Lukić.

Committee President Đorđe Radanović told Srna yesterday that, despite the ban, the Serbs will not give up a peaceful assembly in support of the President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the acting director of the “Official Gazette of the Republic of Srpska”, Miloš Lukić, against whom the indictment was brought, and called on the Serbs to at 18:00 they come to the demarcation lines with FBiH in their municipalities and cities and stop traffic for 30 minutes.

Support for Dodik and Lukić was provided by representatives of associations stemming from the last war, as well as numerous non-governmental organizations that announced their presence at the protests, as well as representatives of the parties of the ruling coalition in the RS, Srna writes.
