Cvijanovic: Schmidt is the main Obstacle to the European Path of BiH

The Chairperson of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović stated that Christian Schmidt is the main obstacle to the internal dialogue and the further movement of Bosnia and Herzegovina towards the European Union.

“It is up to the elected representatives of the people to bring that process to an end, for which the Republika Srpska is fully committed, and it is up to Schmidt to leave Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Cvijanović emphasized in an interview with Srna news agency.

When asked to comment on Schmidt’s decisions today, Cvijanović said that “unfortunately, his moves like this move Bosnia and Herzegovina away from that path, because they derogate from and hinder the sovereign decision-making of institutions at all levels of government.”

She emphasized that “it is Schmidt who, with his illegal presence, is collapsing the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is why, apparently, he makes equally illegal decisions.”

“Even if he was elected in accordance with the procedures, and he was not, he does not have the authority to annul the decisions of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska,” said Cvijanović.
