The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at an emergency session, adopted a Decision declaring July 11, 2025, the Day of Remembrance of the Srebrenica Genocide, a Day of Mourning in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Day of Mourning is marked by the mandatory display of the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina at half-mast, or at the mast, on the buildings of legislative, executive and judicial authorities, public institutions, institutions and other legal entities in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On the Day of Mourning, cultural and entertainment programs cannot be held in public places in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Media outlets in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are obliged to harmonize and adapt their program content to the Day of Mourning. This Decision shall enter into force on the day of its adoption and shall be published in the Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The explanatory memorandum states that the Decision was adopted in order to express condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, and to remember the genocide in Srebrenica.
