Next year, the good cooperation between Sarajevo and Vienna will be crowned by the holding of events such as “Days of Vienna in Sarajevo” and “Days of Science” which will include numerous seminars and conferences, the Office of the City of Vienna in Sarajevo announced today.

Head of Office Tijana Purgić told FENA that the main goal of the cooperation is to strengthen local politics between Sarajevo and Vienna in order to improve the quality of life of their citizens, in which Vienna can help a lot as the city with the best quality of life according to numerous surveys.

– Cooperation with Sarajevo is already taking place through projects such as “Smart City” on digital and energy transition, but also in the fields of fire fighting, culture and others – said Purgić.

She mentioned that Vienna is one of the few cities in the world that has its offices abroad, which only shows how much importance they attach to cooperation with other cities.

Assistant Minister of Transport KS Emir Hota said that long-term cooperation with Vienna resulted in giving Sarajevo a good example of how to improve urban mobility, given that Vienna is one of the most developed cities in that area.

Azra Šišman, expert associate for culture and education of the City of Sarajevo, stated that last year Vienna launched a master’s program of study and professional training for employees of city administrations of friendly cities, including Sarajevo, Fena news agency reports.
