Decrease in Construction Works recorded in Bosnia

Average number of workers employed on construction sites by legal entities in 2019 was 20.407 and represents increase of 1.6% as compared to 2018, while the number of hours worked on construction sites increased by 5.1% compared to the previous year, BH Agency for Statistics stated in the report.

Value of construction works done carried out by workers at construction sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2019 decreased by 4.6% as compared to 2018. 

By types of construction, the proportion of works done on buildings was 45.8%, and 54.2% on the civil engineering. 

In 2019 number of completed buildings by legal entities was 352, thereof 48.0 % residential and 52.0% non-residential buildings. 

Area of completed buildings was 577.238 m2, which was 8.6% more compared to 2018. 

The number of completed dwellings in 2019 is 3.020, representing the increase of 1.2% compared to 2018. 

Average useful floor area of completed dwellings was 57.1 m2.
