Defense Minister: BiH is Leader in Production of Drones in the Balkans

The Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zukan Helez, said that BiH produces drones, and that BiH is a leader in the Balkans, but not much is known about it.

“Bosnia and Herzegovina produces drones. I can proudly tell you that the dedicated industry is certainly the leader in the Balkans. We already produce several types of drones,” said Helez in a guest appearance on N1, and then to the question “What are the drones called?” jokingly replied “Drone.

He went on to say that one was exhibited at the military equipment fair in Skenderija.

“We have our own experts in the USA, the people who designed the Bayraktar drone are our people and they help us in production. I had the opportunity to see how they fly,” he said, then continued:

“This is military equipment, not the meat industry. I was there, I saw, I was delighted, I saw at a university how it is made.”

He then referred to Zlatko Miletić’s allegations that BiH exports weapons to Israel.

“Bosnia and Herzegovina does not export weapons to Israel. When the weapon goes on the market, the “end user” must be known. When that end user gets a weapon, what will he do with it…,” Helez added.

About Dodik’s allegations about the secession of the RS, Helez said:

“It’s a story like Miletić and Israel. Dodik talks about it, but doesn’t take any steps to do it. It is a story that has been going on for 10 years. What are the resources to break away from Dodik? In what way? He has nothing to do it. He says that RS will be recognized by seven countries if it secedes, and Sandžak if it secedes from Serbia will be recognized by 50 countries. And should we go for it? Dodik is trying to do something out of desperation, but nothing will happen”.

“The NATO alliance can accept BiH by voting that no new decision is needed. There is already a decision of the Presidency, which is quite sufficient. NATO is already present in BiH, next year we have two events with NATO that most member states can only dream of. It is a big step forward, almost membership in the NATO alliance. I am proud to point that out and that Stoltenberg praised our Armed Forces of BiH”.
