Defining New Health Politics for Europe

sredoje_novicThe Civil Affairs Minister of B&H Sredoje Nović is the head of the delegation of the representatives of the health institutions in B&H which participates at this year’s 64th session of the Regional Committee of the WHO for Europe. The session is held in Copenhagen, Denmark from 15th to 18th September this year. – was stated from the Civil Affairs Ministry of B&H.

The delegates from 53 member states of the WHO for the region “Europe at its annual meeting” will discuss the reforms of the WHO and implications on the work of the Regional Office of the WHO for Europe.

During the three days lasting work, the regional director of the WHO for Europe will present the first report on implementing the European framework for public health politics “Health 2020” along with his vision of it. The objective of this politics, adopted in 2012, is to considerably improve health and welfare of the population, to decrease inequality in health, to strengthen public health and ensure sustainable, universal and righteous systems of high quality health focused on the patients.

During the 64th session of the Regional Committee of WHO for Europe, the adoption of some very important documents concerning the period from 2015 to 2020 is also foreseen. These documents are: the European action plan for vaccines, the European strategy for children and young people’s health, the European action plan for preventing child abuse and the European action plan for nourishment and alimentation.
